Privacy Policy
Our China Travel does not ask you to create an account. We run one analytics tool (Google Analytics) to see which guides are read, and we may use affiliate links that set a cookie when you click one. We do not sell your data.
This page explains what is collected when you visit ourchinatravel.com, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Analytics. Pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, and the site or search that referred you. This is collected by Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-5454118X1E) using cookies.
- Cookies. Our analytics tool sets first-party cookies (for example _ga) so returning visits are counted correctly. We do not run advertising cookies of our own.
- Email. If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply.
- We do not collect your name, payment card details, passport or ID numbers. There is no login and no user profile on this site.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you follow one, the partner (for example a hotel platform, tour operator or ticket seller) may set its own cookie so a later booking is credited to us. That cookie is the partner's, governed by the partner's own privacy policy. We earn a commission if you book through such a link, at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
How we use what we collect
- To understand which guides are useful, so we can rewrite or expand weak ones.
- To reply to your email.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. Analytics data is processed by Google under its own terms. Our affiliate partners may see that a click came from this site; they do not receive your identity from us unless you choose to complete a booking with them directly.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
- You can install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop analytics collection across sites.
- You can email us to ask what we hold about you and to have it removed.
Children
This site is written for adult travellers and is not directed at children under 13.
