About
About Our China Travel
Our China Travel is an independent guide to travelling in China, written for people planning their own trip. We set out routes, explain tickets and booking windows, and flag the mistakes first-timers make.
Most travel content about China is either a photo gallery or a list of famous names. Neither helps you on the day you actually have to buy a ticket, catch a train or decide which city to drop. This site is built for that moment.
What we do
- Decide, don't just describe. Every guide takes a position: how many days a place deserves, in what order to see it, what to book ahead and what to skip.
- Tickets and rules, in plain terms. Where to buy, when the booking window opens, and which rules catch visitors out — from high-speed rail seating to museum ticket systems.
- Reality checks. The parts the postcards leave out: distances, airport positioning, season windows and the small frictions of a first trip.
How we research
We work from primary sources — railway and ticket systems, museum and scenic-area ticket pages, transport operators and official announcements — and cross-check numbers before they go on a page. Where a figure can change (prices, timetables, opening hours), we say so and treat it as a published figure rather than a fixed fact. When a source cannot be confirmed, we leave the number out instead of guessing.
Editorial independence
We do not publish sponsored posts, and no company can pay to change what a guide says. Some outbound links are affiliate links, which may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you; this is disclosed on every relevant page and in our Affiliate Disclosure. A partnership never decides a recommendation.
Corrections
Things in travel change constantly. If you find an error — a price, a closure, a changed rule — email us and we will check it and correct the page. Corrections are welcome from anyone.
